Discover the unusual history of Trévoux when you visit the Musée Trévoux et ses Trésors. You’ll be immersed in the history of the ancient Principality of Dombes, whose influence was measured on a European scale. Unusual collections showcased on two levels through scents or touch!

The presentation of the collections will introduce you to the different treasures made in Trévoux, comm techniques that surrounded the making of this heritage.

The visit

During the tour, you’ll have the opportunity to admire treasures such as the statue of “Saint John the Evangelist” or “The Chariot of Love”, a fragment of mural painting. Previously hidden, they were discovered during the building’s renovation. Here, you can discover a never-before-seen heritage and its associated techniques:

Milling, metal refining, goldsmithing, punching, diamond dies…

Manuscripts and printed works including “flagship works”: the Mémoires de Trévoux and the Dictionnaire de Trévoux.

A spinning wheel, a magnificent spinning machine, completed these collections.
