This Ain à Vélo itinerary, dedicated to bicycle travelers, is suitable for those who are used to cycling. This ride through the Val de Saône will enable you to discover the architectural richness of the villages you pass through, and perhaps even inspire you to cross the Saône to explore the Beaujolais region. Departing from Thoissey, you'll pass through the villages of Chaneins, Saint-Olive and Ambérieux en Dombes before arriving at Ars-sur-Formans, famous for its sanctuary and basilica and a world-famous pilgrimage site. Then on to Trévoux, on the banks of the Saône, listed as one of France's "Most Beautiful Detours", where you can appreciate its rich architectural heritage, including the former Parliament of La Dombes. After all that effort, you've earned yourself a little break! The "Kanopée Village" campsite, with its Accueil Vélo® label, can accommodate you for the night. You'll continue your tour via Saint-Bernard, a charming traditional village, which will take you to Fareins to visit the 17th-century Château de Fléchères. Then return to the starting point via La Voie Bleue®, Véloroute 50.
