    A bit of history: founded by Henri Malartre in 1959, it became a museum of the city of Lyon in 1972. Henri Malartre (1905–2005) was the son of Victor Malartre, a small-scale Lyon-based contractor specialising in boilermaking and metalwork, who was passionate about cars.

    In the château, 150 cars from 1890 to 1986, including 20 models that are unique in the world. On the 1st and 2nd floors: 40 motorcycles from 1903 to 1955 and 31 bicycles from 1818 to 1960. Over 120 vintage advertising posters, vintage engines and accessories (nearly 1,000 collectable items).

    The museum has a wooded park where you can enjoy picnics and walks! Furthermore, the museum has been awarded the “Accueil vélo” label, meaning cyclists have access to secure bike storage facilities and resources in case of a puncture, for example.
