Our advice

Every first Sunday of the month from April to December, the Marché de la création de Trévoux brings together some 50 artists and craftspeople on the Quai de Saône (April to September) or at the Salle des fêtes (October to December).

Well worth it

STOP!

At the gateway to Greater Lyon, and just across from the Beaujolais region, it’s easily reached by car, train, or even bike from the ViaRhôna. From Massieux to Fareins, 18 kilometers of protected itinerary take in the towpath, with the Monts d’Or and Beaujolais as a backdrop.

On the banks of the Saône

Just like home

Gourmand, you’ll delight your taste buds as you experience the guinguette spirit along the Saône. Numerous restaurants dot the river, from Lyon to Mâcon, offering the emblematic recipes of our terroir: frogs, frying, Bresse chicken with cream or quenelles. Amateurs du bien-vivre et des belles rencontres, you’ll appreciate the enthusiastic welcome you’ll receive at the Maison Eclusière de Parcieux (café, cooking on the go, exhibition space, concerts, workshops) and the Café Vélo La Roue Libre Trévoux (café, small-scale catering, concerts, repairs, maintenance, bike sales and rentals). No doubt you’ll be surprised to meet a dozen artists and craftsmen, who share their skills with passion in the historic center of Trévoux.

Our favorite

My cycling weekend

Leaving Lyon, head up La Voie Bleue Moselle-Saône by vélo to stop off near the medieval town of Trévoux (a dozen Establissements labélisés Accueil Vélo guarantee you a specific, adapted and comfortable welcome). Continue the next day to Thoissey to discover the beautiful cultural and natural heritage of the Bords de Saône. Take advantage of this opportunity to make a jaunt into Beaujolais to discover Beaujeu via the Voie Verte du Beaujolais from Belleville-en-Beaujolais, easily accessible from the Voie Bleue. After a night’s rest in the Thoissey area, finish the stage in Mâcon. The return journey can be made by train from Mâcon, but the most assiduous will be able to go up to discover Tournus or Cluny, and, why not, Luxembourg!
